In the game, each player represents a different tea estate that grows and produces tea and then tries to sell it on the global market. As in life, not all fields and factories are the same, so each estate has a special advantage in the game.

Each season (round) consists of 3 main phases:

1. Hiring Badass Bidjo

Badass Bidjo is a legendary tea master who is happy to share his knowledge with other tea makers in the region. All the estates would like to hire Badass Bidjo as a mentor, but he only agrees to one-year deals. So, as the new season starts, all the estates are trying to outbid other players for his services. The estate with the higher bid gets to use Badass Bidjo’s services on that season. The tea that is produced with the help of Badass Bidjo will give the player reputation which is needed to win the game. With each pallet that has been produced with the help of Badass Bidjo, the player earns more reputation.

2. Preparation for the new season

During this phase players:

acquire new tea fields - the first field is free for all the players, for the following fields the price increases gradually. As you are buying abandoned tea plantations, then in the first year it needs to go through a rehabilitation process and therefore it doesn't produce any tea. Tea can be harvested from the next season. In order for a field to be operational, you need to hire 4 workers to gather the harvest. Each player can have a maximum of 5 plantations.
expand the factory - At the start of the game, the production capacity of the factory is 10 pallets of tea and each player needs 2 workers to operate the factory. Once the maximum production capacity is reached, the player can expand the factory.
pay salary to workers and hire new ones to harvest and produce the tea - each estate must hire workers at the start of the season to harvest leaves from the fields and to produce tea at the factory. Workers will have a long-term contract with your estate and will stay until you pay them a salary every season. It may happen that all the workers from the village are already hired and you need to look for help from further places...
buy development cards - each player can buy cards to:

- develop the sales network to have more places to sell the tea to or at a higher price.

- improve farm infrastructure to produce more tea or to decrease the amount of needed workers.

- help the local community - this doesn't help the estate directly but it does give the player additional reputation.

3. Production and sales

Players produce and sell the tea they have harvested this season. To figure out how much tea the estate has produced in the given season, the players roll the dice. The player rolls as many dice as he/she has fields and the score of the dice equals how many pallets the estate produces. The final production amount depends also on how big is your factory capacity and how many markets you have where to sell the tea.

Before production, a random season card is revealed which affects the current season’s result. Will the weather ruin all of your plans or does unexpected luck land on your farm this year?

4. End of the game

The game ends when one of the players reaches a reputation score of 80 or when the season cards run out. After that the end of the game bonuses will be added to all players and the next Legendary Tea Farmer is declared!
