Playing with this expansion, you will find yourself competing against the ambitious Maliath.

You will never have to make decisions “as if playing against yourself”. As you learn the cards Maliath uses, you will be able topartially predict her next move, thus giving youthe same feel as playing against a competent opponentin multiplayer would.

After her exile, the legendary hero Maliath has returned to Mysthea, but she’s not the same as everybody remembered her.

Maliath is clever in her choice of allies. Depending on which champion she decides to corrupt and their unique characteristics, the match against her may have a different course.

Led by Maliath, the champions change their behavior and have a new way to travel: they are able to fly from one island to another even very far away.

There are four fields in which Maliath excels: Determination, Heroism, Preparation and War.

Through these, instead of playing ongoing Command Cards, she improves her own actions, as tracked by Upgrade tokens.

Instead of scoring Attunement cards, She uses Inclination markers to deny you the ability to attune yourself to certain islands.

She taints Troops and Golems, through which she can control regions, taking advantage of all the benefits arising from that, including starting a battle against you!

And instead of bidding, she uses a simple Battle deck to make choices when facing you.

When facing a monster she will try to interfere with the prestige you would get beating them. But this will also weaken the monsters!

Be prepared to take advantage of it without letting her have the bigger rewards!
