Welcome to our crowdfunding action for the English langiage version of SibirPunk tabletop role-playing game! The game is set in a dystopian future of the SlavicPunk universe which we briefly describe below.

The main goal of the action is to fund together with you, our backers, the tabletop SibirPunk RPG – but it is also a one-of-a-kind opportunity for you to acquire (as a discount price preorder) the SlavicPunk: Oldtimer video game set in the same universe, scheduled to launch in Q2 this year! The site is sure to be visited by video game players as well, the ones who do not necessarily play tabletop games – and it is for them that we have prepared the Add-on with the video game preorder key (select the 1EUR Supporter reward and add the game key Add-on).

Nevertheless, we implore you to consider buying the tabletop RPG as well – it is going to be an excellent supplement for all the collections of gadgets from the video game universe!

Since our action is set out in a light, tongue-in-the-cheek tone and style, we will take the liberty of addressing you, our Backers, as Recruits to the Big Boss’s Brigada – a SibirPunk slang for ‘gang’.

The Big Boss is none other than Michał Gołkowski – our writer and original author of the bestselling book trilogy that sparked the whole mess you are now a vital part of. And, being the Big Boss he’s supposed to be, he will surely find some challenges and quests for you – our line of Stretch Goals!

SlavicPunk – the world of tomorrow no-one’s asked for, but everyone deserves to get.

“What are the odds?...” one cannot help but wonder when looking at all those chrome-heavy, all shiny and neat, futuristic visions of what the new times are supposed to bring. Are we really THAT clever and all, capable of inventing those new technologies, revolutionary solutions and visions that would change the world as we know it?

Well, in brief – no.

SlavicPunk take you into the grimly realistic vision of the world that humanity is actually CAPABLE of building. Actually, this is the world we have already built, and its main problem is, years have gone by, and not that much seems to have changed… Not in the actual subject matter of things, at least.

On the outside, it is indeed the brave new world that the Slavic countries have so long fought for. Their peoples have finally won their rights and freedoms, everyone has opportunities, choices and prospects. Technology has made significant advances, and everything seems to be within one’s reach.

Sadly, most peoples’ hands are apparently way too short.

After decades of political and economic turmoil, Eastern Europe has decided to set its own course. Casting aside the West’s striving for environmental neutrality and instead making a bid on what at the time seemed like their competitive edge, its countries reverted to the good, old ways of fossil fuels and heavy industry technologies in a desperate attempt to catch up with and – hopefully – overtake the civilization of their more advanced opposite numbers.

The resulting schism ran much deeper, literally dividing the two worlds with a new iron curtain of incompatible technology, separate information technology spaces and a dusted-off set of political prejudices.

The universe of SlavicPunk focuses on the widely neglected aspect of Eastern European cyberpunk-ish vision of the future, based on a very simple, yet catchy premise: the Slavs always do things their own way. There is really no need to make things weirder, more complicated or absurd than they already are in Eastern Europe – the only thing it takes is to gather it all up in one place and let one’s imagination run wild as to what the world of cyberpunk would look like if it were made by the Slavs.

And then take a deep breath and admit that the vast majority of it is already true.
