Heroes' Turn

In TDO, players take turns with their moves. At the beginning of their turn, the active player rolls 3 dice, and all other players roll 1 die. Each rolled die represents an action the hero can take. Actions include moving, attacking, healing, generating energy, or triggering the ultimate ability, for example. To trigger an action, a player assigns a die to it. With their first action die, Barry & Nala decide to move closer to the Titan to be in range for their attack.

With their second action die, they unleash a deadly attack from Barry's Railgun to deal damage to the Titan. Then they use their last action die to heal and gain some energy.

After all players have assigned all their dice and used all their actions, the players' turn ends.

Titan's Turn

At the beginning of the Titan’s turn, draw the top Titan card. This card controls the Titan’s behavior and actions. Titans can move, cause damage to heroes, or destroy TDO bases, for example. First, the top Titan card is drawn. It is then being executed from top to bottom. The first entry on the Titan card makes the Titan inflict damage in its timezone and both adjacent ones. The second entry on the Titan card places lava markers.

The last entry makes the Titan move forward. As it enters a space with a TDO base, the base is destroyed.

Sequence of Play

After the Titan has ended its turn, the players take their next turn, until the game ends. The heroes win the game if they manage to destroy the Titan. The Titan wins the game if it manages to destroy all TDO bases on Earth or defeats a total of three heroes.

As you can see, the basic concepts are quickly internalized. Even the full rules can be explained within 10 minutes, so you can start playing right away.
