Project overview

Court is a game meant to bring gamers and non-gamers together it has enough complexity to keep hobby gamers interested but is simple enough for your friends and family who havent played anything other then traditional card games.

The deck consists of 3 suits numbered 1-10 and a Royalty card of each suit. Each player starts with a hand of cards, they take turns playing a card into the "trick", the highest card played wins the trick and a crown worth -2 points at the end of the round but in Court the lowest card played in the trick gets to trigger its card power. Winning tricks is powerful but sometimes you want to come in last to trigger that special power just at the right moment to swing the game. You have to watch out for the powerful royalty cards though, when played they not only win the trick but also get to use their power.

After a trick is completed the winner gets to distribute the cards played to the "Court" in front of each player, the court serves two purposes, first the cards in each players court at the end of the hand is the players score for the round. Second after scoring each player picks up the cards in their court and that is their hand for the next round.

There is also random special objectives in play rewarding players with negative points for getting specific card combinations in their court. 3 different objectives are in play each round and there is a deck of 10 unique objectives.

The game is played over 3 rounds. At the end of three rounds the player with the lowest score wins.

The game can be played as a free for all or in a partnership game with 2 player teams. In a partnership game the game plays with the same structure however when scoring you only count the team mates Court that has the HIGHEST total.
