What is Game Boy Geek?
My name is Dan King a.k.a The Game Boy Geek and over the last 9 years I have produced over 2500 board game videos with over 80% of those being reviews! My mission is "Breaking Down Barriers & Growing Relationships Through board Games by Helping You Find the Next Board Game You'll Love."
YOU (the viewers) benefit from my videos by:
- Helping you find the next board game you'll love by attacking reviews with hi-energy.
- Investigate 5x more new games than normal by quickly using my 2 minute "Allegro" format.
- Live Streams that YOU get to play along with me, and even in real-time against well known designers!
- Helping you enjoy the next board game you'll love by teaching you how to setup and play the game without reading the rules yourself in my "Rules School" videos.
- Helping you stay away from certain games that you may have otherwise spent money on.
- Making you aware & providing details of the latest games in the industry.
- Learn about which games I think are the best from Top 10 lists.
- Get the latest information from the largest conventions in North America.
- Seeing how board games can be used in the community to help charitable organizations obtain their mission in my "Gaming on Purpose" series.
- Listen to my reviews (intros and final thoughts) via an audio podcast while you're on the go.
What We Need & What You Get:
Donations to the Game Boy Geek will allow me to continue helping you find the next board game you'll love by allowing me to allocate time to do so.
It will also allow me to do the following:
- Procure more equipment needed to create better videos.
- Travel to conventions (pending state of the pandemic) which helps me keep up with the latest news and major developments in the industry.
Shipping
Due to the heightened shipping costs (especially international), those can be more easily absorbed by pooling together up to 5 backers' pledges in your area. For example in the table below, 1 promo pack to the EU is $27 but if you get 5 of them for your and your game group, it's only $8 each for shipping.
VAT is not shown in this table but will be calculated in the pledge manager if it applies to your location.
