It’s rare, but it happens: sometimes backers make fake large pledges to falsely unlock a stretch goal or simply troll a campaign. To prevent this, we now offer the option to set a maximum pledge amount available for deferred payment. What does that mean? From now on, creators can ask their account manager to set a limit. For example, if the most expensive reward tier is $200, the creator could set the maximum deferred amount to $2,000. This way, if someone wants to pledge for 10 expensive rewards, they can, but the payment must be made upfront. Even if they choose to use a credit card, the funds will be collected immediately. For someone serious about pledging a high amount, this shouldn’t be an issue, and it will definitely make trolls think twice about their actions (or at least limit this option to only very wealthy trolls). Remember, this feature is only available upon request; creators cannot set this limit themselves.

The featured section on mobiles has been significantly expanded - meaning more visibility for more projects. Our priority with this change was to showcase a larger number of projects on the homepage, increasing the chance of your project being visited by potential backers. While the desktop version will remain unchanged for now, mobile users make up for 70% of our traffic meaning this update was a no-brainer.

Creators can now adjust their launch date without their account managers' re-approval. That means you have the flexibility to change an approved launch date to any other future date, even if it's closer than 7 days.

Those who have backed a project using Stretch Pay will receive an e-mail every time an installment has been paid for. This gives you confirmation that the transaction has gone through, information on when your next scheduled installment payment is, and that you’re closer to fully paying for a pledge - and for exactly what project. Some of you have been asking for this, and we’re happy to bring this change to you.
