An ordinary visit to Novigrad quickly turns into a real mind game of deception and tricks. It looks like someone has infiltrated your team, taking the place of one of you! Will you be smart enough to track down the masqueraders?

Doppler is a Tale full of accusations and uncertainty. At the beginning of the game, you take 1 of 4 sets of Secret Goal cards from the bag and shuffle them with a Doppler card(s). After that, each of you draws a card. If you draw a Secret Goal card – you are yourself. But if you draw a Doppler card… be careful, as the other players will try to expose you!

The Secret Goal cards tell the human players which of the cards’ color will bring the team closer to completing the story goal and discovering the secret of the Novigrad Dopplers. Your goal is to make the color depicted on the Secret Goal card the highest one on the Quest track, and for each 3 cards of a particular color played to players’ Timelines you move the matching token up one space.

But remember, you are watched! Thinking out loud and playing only the right cards will allow the Doppler to figure out the mission objective and remain undetected. It’s a game of appearances!

After each round, players try to figure out who’s the Doppler. They use their Mistrust tokens to vote. If Doppler remains hidden (any non-Doppler character receives more Mistrust votes), they get additional Victory Points. So look closely and be careful who you trust!
