Nuovarden is a tabletop fantasy roleplaying game of exploration and discovery, where the denizens of the new garden harness powerful manifestations to access unlimited potential. Inspired by action sequences from Castlevania, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and games like Monster Hunter and Outward, Nuovarden is powered by our robust Fortunes d4 System and the openness of the narrative imagination.

Earthpunk Fantasy: This is no medieval trope! Our setting combines elements of harmony and beauty with edgy rebellion and electric riffs in a psychedelic landscape full of surprise and wonder. Harvest the colorful vegetation for food and medicine - but be careful what you touch! Not everything is what it seems. Need we say the same of the creatures that roam the technicolor underbrush?

The story of the New Garden: As inter-dimensional explorers, and possessing an unlimited ability to manifest all they needed to survive, the Starnam sought the infinite knowledge contained in other worlds, and to meet the many denizens therein. Drawn by the power of the eternal sky crystal, the Starnam arrived in the old garden eager to discover the source. On arrival, however, the garden absorbed their manifesting power, the sky crystal cracked, and a heretofore unknown twilight descended. During this twilight the garden redistributed the new energy throughout the dimension, reducing the Starnam to only the power of Mind, and giving rise to a myriad of new people. When that first morning came, the paradigm of the dimension had changed, though none knew to what extent. Five generations later, the people of the new garden still seek knowledge of those changes, to learn of the past as well as the present, in a wildly changed landscape.

Players choose their explorer from one of eight cultures or seven associated subcultures, each empowered by a specific discipline and innate ability. The goal of the explorers is to learn more about the new garden, exchanging information on its dangers and discovering lost secrets from the time before the great change, known as the Emergence. Discoveries include - lost technology, ancient Lanplac sites, and a myriad of new life forms both dangerous and benign. As the characters explore and gain knowledge, they become more powerful, able to command new disciplines, with greater control to withstand the dangers of the new garden.

Lost secrets, powerful resources, and terrifying creatures lurk throughout the land, waiting to be discovered...

Explorers gather at range camps or meet in villages to find allies and barter for goods that keep them safe in their explorations. Employing navigational tools that take advantage of the central sky crystal, explorers discover a land of rumor, ancient history, and mysterious lifeforms. Nuovarden’s economic system runs on barter, allowing players to exchange the items found on their travels for more powerful gear. Creatures may be harvested for valuable trade goods, and other items, such as gemstones, tools, artifacts, and plants can also be collected for trade and crafting. Players can also craft items, from simple tools, to restorative foods and tinctures, to powerful master craft weapons.
